Take a dive at the popular diving spot in Tulamben, the USS Liberty Wreck.  Liberty is a 120 meter long cargo ship, which was built in 1918 in New Jersey (USA) and operated by the American army during the Second World War.  In 1942, when it was heading towards Lombok Strait, it was hit by two torpedoes from a Japanese submarine.  The crew on the ship tried to tow it to Singaraja, but due to too much water, they beached the ship on the beach in Tulamben.  Liberty was on the beach from 1942 until 1963, when an earthquake and eruption from the Mount Agung volcano caused Liberty to slide 40 meters into the water from the beach.  And has now been there for more than 50 years and is one of the most popular wreck dives known worldwide.  Over the years, a beautiful, animal-rich and coral-covered life has formed around the wreck, which has only made it even more worthy of a visit.  The wreck lies at a depth of 5 to 31 meters in depth.  It can be dived by both beginners and experienced divers.  Visibility: 5 - 20 meters depending on weather conditions.
